Means of enhancing Yemeni- Saudi trade cooperation discussed

SANA'A, June 26 (Saba)- Yemen and kingdom of Saudi Arabia have held talks over means of boosting trade cooperation between the two neighboring countries. 

Upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Trade and Industry Yahya al-Mutawakel told Saba that the talks with the Saudi officials of trade ministry over commercial ties between the two countries.

Al-Mutawakel said that his visit to Saudi Arabia came in reply to an invitation of his Saudi counterpart to follow up outcomes of Yemeni-Saudi trade technical team's meeting which was held recently in Sana'a.
He said that the talks affirmed of setting up Yemeni-Saudi Businessmen council, highlighting support of the kingdom for joining Yemen to the corporations of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Zainal Alireza called last week on both the public and private sectors to make joint efforts to expand trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

“We look optimistically forward to greater growth and development in diverse areas of commerce and industry with Yemen,” Alireza said.

In a statement to Arab News, the Saudi minister promised governmental support for efforts for the development of trade between the two countries.
