Aden Governor: No clashes between citizens and security
[21/May/2009]

ADEN, May 21 (Saba)-Some media outlets, led by al-Jazeerah Space Channel, escalate incidents and magnify them when they talk about killed and injured people in clashes between security forces and demonstrators here, said Aden Governor Adnan al-Jefri.

Speaking to Saba, al-Jefri said on Thursday "No clashes occurred between security forces and demonstrators in Aden".

"The province issued earlier a decision to avoid any clashes with demonstrators and not to give opportunity to those who stand behind unrest".

He indicated that some chaotic elements have conducted unrest and sabotage acts after demonstrating in al-Hashimi area. "These acts slightly wounded a number of citizens by stones of these elements".

A citizen has been killed by shots of armed persons of those elements who evoked unrest while they were grouping in a nearby building, stated al-Jefri. He affirmed that security forces have arrested a number of elements accused of agitating unrest and are interrogated to be presented to justice.
