President Saleh visits Socatra

HODIBO, March 15 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Sunday a visit to Socatra archipelago where he inspected Hawlaf seaport and conditions of the citizens of the archipelago.

President Saleh gave orders to the concerned bodies to finalize a project of the road inside the archipelago

He also visited Socatra Heritage Museum which includes objects that reflect heritage of the archipelago in addition to other studies and books over the archipelago.

Meanwhile, president Saleh paid a visit to the navy camp in the archipelago where he inspected condition of the soldiers and training programs in the camp.

He highlighted achievements of the camp in doing its tasks and duties, pointing out to the achievements in the archipelago in field of roads.

President Saleh promised to work hard to develop navy forces of the nation and coastguards in the archipelago to enable them doing their tasks well to protect regional waters and fisheries wealth of the nation.

He also gave orders to finalize telecom network and offer internet services for citizens in the region as well as finalize works in building 22 May Hospital in Hodibo city.
President affirmed importance of protecting environmental diversity in the archipelago.

Members of the local council and directors of the districts of the archipelago expressed happiness for the visit of president Saleh to the region, expressing thank you for the concern of the president with developments in the region.

They wished further development and service projects in the archipelago.
