Yemen strongly condemns ICC's warrant for arresting al-Bashir
[10/March/2009]
SANA'A, March, 10 (Saba)- Yemen condemned strongly the International Criminal Court's warrant for the arrest of Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir.

In its weekly meeting held on Tuesday, the government affirmed that this decision represents an unprecedented move contradicting with international treaties and with respecting the state sovereignty's norm.

The government also said this move will hinder efforts being exerted for realizing peace, security and stability in Darfur region besides complicating situations in this brotherly country. It will affect the region's security and stability.

The cabinet expressed admiration for a decision of the United Nation Security Council for halting the court decision for enhancing regional security and stability and helping solving the Darfur problem by peaceful means.
