Two soldiers killed, one injured as security patrol attacked in Saada
[07/March/2009]

SAADA, Mar. 07 (Saba) – Two soldiers were killed and one was injured as outlaws, believed to be Houthi rebels, attacked  a security patrol that was serving at the central market of the al-Malaheeth district of Saada province, the state-run 26sep.net has said.

According to police in the area, the attackers shot the three soldiers from near the al-Noor clinic on the main highway.

Other soldiers on the security patrol returned fire against the outlaws killing one of them.

Another person involved in the killing of troops was arrested at a checkpoint in the district later.

Security authorities are investigating.

On the other hand and in a clear and continuous violation of accords signed with Yemen on not to attack each other country's fishing boats, the Eritrean authorities seized during the past two days three Yemeni boats.

The incident took place while the three boats were fishing in the international waters.

Eritrean personnel came to the boats and took them by force, under weapon threat, to one of the Eritrean islands.

And as usual, the Yemeni fishermen onboard were returned after their boats along with their contents were confiscated.

The fishermen have already arrived in the Bab el-Mandab strait where police listened to their accounts and told the competent authorities about the incident.
