Team to restore mosques of Zabid city

SANA'A, Feb. 12 (Saba)- A field team was formed by the ministry of culture to inspect current situation of the mosques in the historical city of Zabid and to start the restoring process for these mosques, which dated back to the early age of Islam.

Director of Antiquities, Museums and Historical Cities Affairs at the ministry Ahmed al-Radi told 26 September weekly that the restoring process would be implemented in coordination with the ministry of endowments and guidance soon and the first phase would cover four mosques.

The city has nearly 90 mosques and Islamic schools, most of them need for restoring and maintenance.
