Int'l community responsible for genocide war on Gaza: Yemeni official
[05/January/2009]

SANA'A, Jan. 05 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi said on Monday that the international community is partly responsible for the genocide war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

During his meeting with a number of European Union (EU) ambassadors and chargé d'affaires, al-Qirbi called on EU to play a positive role in issuing a UN resolution stipulated an immediate end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

The Yemeni minister also talked with the EU representatives over the piracy phenomenon in the Gulf of Aden and the Arab Sea.

They discussed the necessary machineries for coordinating efforts between the European EUNAVFOR Atalanta mission and Yemeni Coastguards forces to carry out operations against the piracy act in the Gulf of Aden and the Arab Sea.

Regarding the coming parliamentary elections scheduled next April, al-Qirbi welcomed the presence of international observers during the voting process.

He asserted that the dialogue is still underway between the General People Congress party (GPC) and the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to promote the democratic path, security and satiability in the country.
