Yemeni Jews condemn Israeli massacres in Gaza
[30/December/2008]

SANA'A, Dec. 30 (Saba) – Yemeni Jews have condemned the recent Israeli massacres in the Gaza strip, saying what is happening in the strip is denied by all religions.

Rabbi Yahya said that what the Israeli military is committing in the strip forces Jews in Yemen to stay home in fear of intimidations by some people who don't like to understand that Yemeni Jews are not part of Israeli military actions in Palestinian territories.

For his part, Jew Suleiman Bin Yaqup said Israeli crimes in Gaza are unacceptable by Yemeni Jews as killing people is unlawful.

The Israeli military hit the Gaza strip for a fourth successive day. Gaza death toll soared to almost 380 Palestinians as the aristrikes continued on Tuesday targeting Hamas official buildings. And almost more than 1000 other Gazans were wounded.

On December 11, a Jew was murdered in Amran province by a Yemeni local. Religious reasons were said behind the murder.

The murderer went on trial but no verdict has been made yet.

However, Yemeni Jews say that intimidations Jews experience may be as a result of what Israel commits against Palestinians.

Yemeni Jews claim they are intimidated and persecuted by some people; however, they say tribe elders intervene to protect them.
