Yemen , EU to coordinate efforts to fight piracy

SANA'A, Dec. 03 (Saba)- Well-informed sources said on Wednesday that a delegation of the European Union is to pay a visit to Yemen during the coming two days.

The sources were quoted by the state-run 26sep.net as saying that the EU delegation are expected to hold talks with senior Yemeni officials over means of coordination the efforts to fight the piracy in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The sources made clear that the EU is to launch maritime security operations in mid-December to protect ships from the pirates' attacks.

A Yemeni cargo ship hijacked by Somalis pirates last week have been released and moving towards the Yemeni water, according to Yemeni security sources.
