Yemen, Tajikistan sign four cooperation treaties

ADEN, Dec. 01 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Tajikistani President Emomalii Rahmon held on Monday expanded talks in which three cooperation treaties and memo of understanding between the two countries have been signed.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abu Baker al-Qirbi and Tajik Minister of Economic Development signed cooperation treaty in economic, technical and scientific fields.
A treaty for educational cooperation between ministry of education in Yemen and Tajik Ministry of Sciences was signed also by Minister al-Qirbi and Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamza Khan Zarifi .

Minister of Agriculture Mohammad al-Muflihi and Tajik Foreign Minister Hamza Zarifi singed a treaty for cultural cooperation between the two countries, in addition to memo of understanding on political consultations between the two countries signed by the two foreign ministers.

In the talk section, President Ali Abdullah Saleh welcomed Yemen's guest showing readiness on cooperation in different fields and welcomed invitation to visit Tajikistan extended by President Emomalii Rahmon saying he will visit the country in the first quarter of 2009.

Tajik president, who thanked the president for the hospitality he and the accompanying delegation received, said the two countries have historical and fruitful relations.

"We have joint concerns and interests need developing cooperation in field of security and stability and we have to build a foundation in embarking on for more joint cooperation and exchange interests," said Rahmon.


He indicated that during his talks with officials in Sana'a, he extended a demand for opening an office for diplomatic representation to his country in Sana'a hoping from Yemeni leadership opening this office as soon as possible for severing interests of the two countries.
