Yemen close to achieve education millennium goal: UNICEF says

SANA'A, Nov. 29 (Saba) - UNICEF has confirmed that Yemen has made great progress in achieving the millennium goals in education, particularly in basic education.

Deputy resident representative of UNICEF in Sana'a Mary Fonseca said that education was the best program of the country cooperation programs between the government and the United Nations Children's Fund in terms of progress.

The UNICEF official made clear that the organization cooperates with Yemeni government greatly in education field, particularly in girl education.

The millennium goal in education field dictates to enroll all children over the age of six years to schools as well as to bridge the gender gap in basic education by 2015.
