Parliament delegation returns home after GOPAC conference

SANA'A, Nov. 22 (Saba) - Delegation of the Parliament headed by Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed Ali al-Shadadi returned to Sana'a on Saturday after participating in activities of the 3rd Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against corruption (GOPAC)which was held in Kuwait in November 17-20.

Al-Shadadi said to Saba that "the conference came out with a number of decisions to strengthen joint work of parliamentarians, governments and international organizations regarding finding out best ways to apply United Nations Convention against Corruption and limit its dangers".

He revealed that the conference confirmed the necessity to issue Arab legislations to strengthen fairness, combat corruption,apply concerned Arab and International conventions and agreements to combat corruption in the framework of gathering all concerned sides of combating corruption from all official,parliamentary and civil society organizations.

Al-Shadadi indicated that on the sidelines of the conference, he met chairman of Kuwaiti Umma Council Jassem al-Khurafi and held talks with him over mutual cooperation relations between the two parliaments and means of improving them to serve the two countries and confirmed the importance of exchanging visits between the two parliaments speakers.
