President Saleh: Floods kill 41, destroy, damage 1700 houses

SAY'OON, Oct. 25 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh stated the floods in Hadramout and Mahra governorates caused great damages resulted in killing 41, missing 31 others and destroying and affecting 1700 houses.

"According to initial reports, roads and bridges have been damaged and highways wither in the Valley or Coast districts in the governorate have been blocked," said Saleh in a statement he made to media outlets during his inspection visit to Say'oon city in Hadramout governorate on Saturday.

He added that Mucalla-Rayyan highway has been opened but there still blocked roads in the Valley among of which the main road linking Mucalla with the Capital Sana'a, "we have continuous rescue and aid efforts and efforts for transporting food and medical substances, tenets and blankets from Sana'a to affected areas."

He asserted that the government will spare no effort in rescue ,aid and housing process " we are confident that the private sector will help the government in this process", noting that some expatriates are in contact with concerned authorities showing their willingness to cooperate with their brothers affected with floods.
