Water, environment minister returns home

SANA'A, Oct. 12 (Saba)- Water and Environment Minister Abdul-Rahman al-Iriyani has returned home after participation in the annual conference of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) which was kicked off recently in Barcelona city in Spain.

In a statement to Saba, al-Iriyani said that the conference was attended by 9000 participants representing countries organization, and international bodies.

The conference addressed a number of issues related to environment and problems facing it as well as protecting nature reserves and climate changes, al-Iriyani said.

The conference also discussed the program issues of the IUCN financed by the Italy in the field of integrated management for water in Dhamar province which is expected to begin in 2009.

Al-Iriyani has discussed with a number of participants the aspect of boosting the common relations.
