Yemen, Hungary sign higher education cooperation deal

BUDAPEST, Oct. 11(Saba) – Yemen and Hungary have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Under the agreement singed in Hungary's capital, Budapest, by the two ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Yemen will receive 16 scholarships, 10 of which in medicine fields and 6 in other areas.

The agreement includes exchanging visits by academics of the two countries, establishing direct relations between Yemeni and Hungarian universities as well as learning from Hungarian specialized universities experiences.

The countries will also hold joint scientific conferences and swap publications and releases.

Before the signing, minister of Higher Education Saleh Ba Surrah met with the rectors of Hungarian universities of Engineering and medical sciences.

The meeting discussed the possibilities of establishing direct relations between Yemeni universities and the two universities. Ba Surrah also held talks with chairman of Higher Education Committee of Hungarian Parliament over cooperation ties between the two countries in higher education and scientific research fields and means of boosting and improving them.

The Hungarian official confirmed his country's interest to boost and improve cooperation ties with Yemen in various fields.
