Total to get jobless Yemenis into work

SANA'A, Oct 08 (Saba) – The French Total Petroleum Company has announced a plan to get jobless Yemeni people at areas where the company operates into work.

The company general director Martin Deffontaines said Total will get as many as possible unemployed Yemenis of those who are available at areas near the company activities into work.

The French ambassador to Yemen Gilles Gauthier said the move comes to build up human capabilities in the country, affirming France gives priority to human development, adding any country can't develop unless its people are developed.

Total has distributed 7000 school bags at the schools of the Sah district in Hadramout province in an effort to promote education in these areas.

Total undertakes many activities aimed at improving conditions of people at areas where it operates.

The Hadromout deputy governor Ahmed Junaid al-Junaid appreciated Total's initiatives to help neighboring people, affirming the government support such activities.

Total, the third –European largest oil company and one of the top four oil companies in the world, is the biggest foreign investor in Yemen.

It operates at the 10th bloc in Shabwa with other partnerships at other oil blocs in the country. it started producing oil at the bloc in 1997 and since then it has produced about 100 million barrels.
