Ba-Surah reviews developments of Yemen in higher education

BAKU, Oct. 07 (Saba)- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh Ba-Surah reviewed on Tuesday developments witnessed in Yemen in the field of higher education during the past years.

During the 4th conference of Higher Education Ministers in the Islamic World, held in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, he said that sector of higher education in Yemen has witnessed big developments coping with technology boost.

Ba-Surah noted that Yemen is going ahead in implementing the National Strategy for Developing Higher Education 2006-2010 as well as its executive program with a support from the World Bank (WB) and the European Union (EU) in addition to some donor organizations.

He came across the most important projects currently being implemented within the strategy, coming on top automation of public universities and linking them to one network.

The minister also reviewed procedures taken by Yemen to implement recommendations and decisions of the 3rd conference which was held in Kuwait in 2006.
