$20 mln allocated to support 3rd phase fast-track education program

SANA'A, Oct. 06 (Saba) - Educational leaders and representatives of donors approved on Monday the final plan to implement third phase of the fast-track program (2009 - 2010) funded by donors at $20 million.

During the meeting, Minister of Education Abdul Salam al-Jawfi valued the assistance provided by the country's development partners of donors in supporting the activities of education ministry.

The third phase (2009-2010) aims to improve the quality of basic education, reduce the educational gap between males and females in rural and urban areas and to reduce illiteracy among children and the elderly, in addition to building schools in the governorates of Dhamar, Baidha'a, Hodeidah, Hajjah and Raymah.
