Ba Surrah heads to Azerbaijan

SANA'A, Oct 05 (Saba) – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh Ba Surrah headed on Sunday along with an accompanying delegation to Azerbaijan to take part in the fourth Muslim Higher Education conference.

The conference would be held on 6-8 October in Azerbaijan's capital of Baku.

Ba Surrah said the conference will discuss issues in relation to improving the capabilities of youth working in the field of higher education and scientific research, the conditions of higher education in Muslim countries as well as a project presented at the conference of the Organization of the Islamic Conference OIC held in 1997 in Tehran regarding some amendments to the project of developing technology and scientific research in the Islamic and Arab countries.

The participants will listen to a report by the OIC director general Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri on the organization activities between its third and fourth conferences, the minister said.

Ba Surrah will fly to Hungary to discuss aspects of bilateral collaboration in the field of higher education and scientific research.

On the visit, the two countries will sign an agreement that will include increasing the number of scholarships offered by the Hungarian universities for Yemeni students, mechanism to swap academic experiences and staffs as well as holding joint related symposiums and conferences.
