Arab, International denunciation on U.S. embassy attack in Yemen

SANA'A, Sep. 18 (Saba) - Arab and International countries denunciated the attack took place yesterday morning, Monday, against the US embassy in Sana'a.

President George W. Bush said the attack on the U.S. embassy was a reminder that we are at war with extremists who will murder innocent people to achieve their ideological objectives".

At the conclusion of his meeting with Commander of US forces in the Middle East and Central Asia General David Petraeus, US president said that extremists aim to cause the United States to lose its nerve and to withdraw from regions of the world.

He outlined the US massage that is to help governments survive the extremists. "We want people to live normal lives. We want mothers to be able to raise their sons and daughters in a peaceful environment so they can realize the hopes and dreams of a better world" President Bush.

On the other hand, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned strongly the "criminal" attack on diplomatic facilities and personnel worldwide, considering them against international law and are totally unacceptable.

He called on the Yemeni authorities to spare on efforts to hunt and perpetrators and bring them before justice.

For his part, the Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa considered that bloodshed and killing innocents would lead to nothing. He expressed his refusal to such acts and his condemnation to this terrorist attack on US embassy in Sana'a.

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdurrahman al-Attiyah has denunciated sharply the terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, the Italian government condemned the terrorist attack which targeted the U.S. embassy. The Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini affirmed during his meeting yesterday with Arab ambassadors in Rome his country's solidarity with Yemeni government to realize peace and stability in Yemen.

On Wednesday morning, two explosions rocked the US embassy compound in Sana'a, causing no US casualties. The Yemeni troops guarding the building could prevent two bomb cars from attacking the embassy. All dead, 16, are fifteen Yemenis and an Indian. Six Yemeni soldiers and fours civilian and the six attackers were killed in the well-coordinated operation.
