Official statistics show 750,000 African refugees in Yemen

SANA'A, Sep. 07 (Saba)- Official statistics showed that about 597 Somali refugees, including 180 women and child, had arrived in Yemen during the past few days.

In Shabwa province, east of Yemen, 115 Somali refugees, including 20 women, were taken to a refugees camp in Lahj province after they arrive in the province's shores on Saturday.

Interior Ministry also mentioned that Hadramout province received 115 Somali refugees, 252 others arrived in Abyan province and 205 refugees in Tiaz province. The statistics showed that the number of African refugees in Yemen reached 750,000 people.

Moreover, Premier Ali Mohammad Mujawar and UNHCR representative have discussed the possibility of legalizing a special law for refugees.

Mujawar call on international community to provide more support to help Yemen faces increasing waves of African refugees.
