GCC to assess cooperation with Yemen
[26/August/2008]

SANA'A, Aug 26 (Saba) – During the 108th round of the Gulf Cooperation Council Foreign Ministers that would be chaired by Qatar, the ministers will review a report on cooperation between Yemen and the bloc in various areas.

The ministers will also discuss the possibility of Yemen's joining to new agencies of the bloc such as the Standards and Metrology Organization.

General secretary of the GCC Abdul Rahman al-Attiyah said the round will also consider a Yemeni request to accede into the Gulf Patent Office and recommendations of the last Yemeni-Gulf Technical Committee meetings to identify Yemen's development needs.

The Yemeni-Gulf Technical Committee met in July in Sana'a to discuss the Yemen needs over 2011-2015 and that will help Yemen to promote its economy to be able to join the GCC by 2015.
