President order to improve media workers conditions
[20 August 2008]

SANA'A, Aug 20 (Saba) – Head of the Yemeni Journalist Syndicate Nasr Taha Mustapha has appreciated the president Ali Abdullah Saleh's directives to improve the conditions of media workers, saying the move will help them achieve their duties perfectly.

During a meeting with media workers on Tuesday president Saleh confirmed the government support for the freedom of press and expression, urging the media workers to release and report authentic information.

Mustapha hopes the government will also approve the project of job description of media workers put forward by the syndicate to be enrolled in the upcoming year budget.

He said the syndicate gives priority to develop media work through preparing the Journalist Honor Charter and amending the journalism law.
