Yemen condemns Tripoli terrorist attack
[16/August/2008]

SANA'A, Aug 16 (Saba) – Yemen has condemned the terrorist attack which took place in the Lebanese city of Tripoli and that killed many soldiers and civilians and wounded many others.

Yemen's ambassador to Lebanon Faisal Ameen Abu Ras sent a letter to the Lebanese president Michel Suleiman expressing Yemen's regret over the incident and solidarity with all the Lebanese people.

" Terrorism has become a trans-states phenomenon that can't differentiate among place and another." Abu Ras said in this letter, adding the best way to face such phenomenon is to unite efforts of the Arab concerned bodies and sign common agreements in the interest of each country.

A roadside bomb went off near a bus in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli killing 18 soldiers and wounding others.
The attack was described as terrorist and suspected to be carried out by an al-Qaeda inspired group.
