SCER, NDI discuss amendment to voters list in targeted provinces

SANA'A, Aug.09 (Saba)- Secretary-general of the Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER) Shaief al-Husseni reviewed on Saturday with director of International Affairs Program in the National Democratic Institute (NDI) Rabab al-Modwahi the current technical arrangements by SCER on the amendment of voters list and the next parliamentary elections.

The talks dealt with the program of NDI to support elections process through the networks of civil society organization working in the area promoting democracy in Yemen.

The program includes the implementation of awareness campaigns in 13 electoral province aimed to push citizens, particularly women, in the process of reviewing, amending the voters list, and the prosecution of future elections, the appeals procedure for nomination, polling and counting.

Secretary-general of SCER praised all forms of technical support to SCER by donor organizations, particularly NDI, UNDP and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES ).
