Yemen selected to membership of GAVI council

SANA'A, Aug. 07 (Saba)- Administration of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) chose Yemen, represented by Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rasa, as member in the administration board to represent a developing countries group for coming three years.

Rasa was selected from a list of 58 candidates from Asia, African and Middle East.
In 2006, the alliance granted Yemen a finical support at sum of $ 2.2 million to bring the programs of the ministry into success.

Last year, the alliance also offered 6 million dollar for vaccination programs in the country.
