SANA'A, Aug. 06 (Saba) - The foreign debt of Yemen has dropped to $ 5.951 billion by the end of June 2008 compared to $ 5.959 billion at the mid of 2007.
A report issued by the Central bank of Yemen (CBY) disclosed that the first lender to Yemen is the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with $ 3.158 billion followed by the International Development Agency with $ 2.144 billion.
According to the report the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) comes in the third position with $ 637 million, then the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with 135 million.
Yemen also borrow from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) around $ 122 million, Islamic Development Bank $ 80 million and from the OPIC $ 33 million.
