Parliament to discuss amendments on elections law on Saturday

SANA'A, August 01 (Saba)- The Parliament will discuss on Saturday some suggested amendments on the law of elections No.13/2001, 26 September weekly reported on Thursday.

The amendments were suggested by the cabinet recently to avoid faults took place during the previous elections and insure fair elections as well as benefit from the recommendations of the European union which were issued after presidential election in 2006.

For his part, the director of International Federation for Election System office IFES in Yemen Peter William affirmed importance of independence of the Supreme Commission of Elections and Referendum.

William also insisted on allocation material support for parties to do their role in the political life and elections in the country.
