NPC: Yemen population will be 43 million in 2035
[17 July 2008]

HODEIDAH, July 17 (Saba) - Indicators showed that Yemen's population would reach 43 million in 2035, secretary general of the National Population Council (NPC) Ali Burji has stated.

He noted that the level of population growth in Yemen still ranking the highest in the world, warning form more poverty and more development problems in the country.

The reason of the increased population growth level is the Yemeni community's grasping of proliferation norms that makes the country unable to afford growth consequences.

He considered family planning one of the greatest important means to face population growth.
