SCER, IFES review preparations for 2009 parliamentary election

SANA'A, 14 July (Saba) - The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) and the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) discussed here on Monday current technical and administrative preparations for the coming parliamentary elections to be held in April, 2009.

The SCER's Secretary General Shaief al-Husainy discussed with the executive director of IFES arrangements for the process of reviewing voters register that has begun in this July and to be finalized next December.

For his part, the IFES's official affirmed that his Foundation would offer all the technical and financial assistance for the electoral procedures carrying out by the SCER.
