SANA'A, July 08 (Saba) - The UNICEF's office in Yemen announced that the New York-based organization decided to grant Yemen $2.5 million to fight malnutrition among mothers and children.
This statement was made by deputy representative of UNICEF in Yemen Ann Mary in a workshop held on Tuesday in the capital Sana'a to evaluate plans to face prices increase and effect of that on the level of nutrition of mothers and under-five children.
The workshop, participated by 30 national and international NGOs, approved some strategies and programs that have been designed to promptly combat malnutrition among target mothers and children due to price hikes. The participants also called for training medical cadres and local volunteers to help distribute necessary foodstuffs for targets.
The workshop recommended the Ministry of Public Health and Population, partners, donors and national corporations to interactive with this campaign and offer funds to challenge such "health and economic issue".
