9th Asian Judo Championship launched in Sana'a

SANA'A, July 03 (Saba) – Vice president Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi opened on Thursday the 9th Asian juniors' Judo Championship being  organized by the Yemen Judo Union in collaboration with the Judo Union of Asia and under the supervision of the International Judo Union.

About 420 participants from 28 Asian countries are taking part in the event which is taking place in the 22nd hall in Sana'a.
 
At the opening, minister of Youth and Sports Hamud Ubad welcomed the participating teams and hoped the championship to be as first step for Yemen to host big sport events.

Chief of the Judo Union of Asia Ubaid al-Anzi praised the Yemeni efforts in organizing the championship saying its launch was considered as a new start for judo in Asia.

Over three days, the participant teams will compete for eight weights.

The participating teams are from : Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the Untied Arab Emirates, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, China, Macaw, China's Taipei, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzpakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Filipino, Gurgistan, Magnolia, Nepal and Yemen.
