IFES advisor praises Yemen elections law

SANA'A, June 25 (Saba)- The senior International advisor in the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) praised on Wednesday the legal framework of Yemen's elections law, considering it one of the best laws and model in the region.

During his meeting with General Secretary of the Supreme Commission for Election and Referendum (SCER) Shayf al-Husseni, the IFES official reviewed with al-Husseni the latest developments of Yemen's democracy and the steps which will be carried out in the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2009.

Al-Husseni also talked with the IFES advisor on aspects of the bilateral cooperation between Yemen and IFES during the coming period, hailing all forms of support and assistance provided By IFES to Yemen in both electoral and democratic fields
