Governors' election begin in Yemen

SANA'A, May 17 (Saba) – The elections for Secretariat Capital mayor and governors of 20 other provinces began on Saturday in Yemen under tightened supervision.

Some 354 local, Arab and foreign monitors are supervising the elections which are deemed the first of its kind in the country.

Earlier in the day, the supervising committees began to receive electoral bodies to make sure that all legal measures had been completed to start vote. 

Eligible voters at the local councils across the republic reach 7484. Some 206 have been excluded for legal reasons.
