Governors' election is significant development, says al-Arhabi

SANA'A, May 16 (Saba)- Deputy Premier and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Kareem al-Arhabi has described governors' election as significant development in the Yemeni
democratic experiment.

Al-Arhabi said that such development comes within promises of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in his electoral platform to enhance decentralization and extend popular participation in making decision.

He added that the government would work in coming period to improve role of local councils to lead process of the development in the
provinces.

Al-Arhabi said that such step is supported by donors.The elections will be held on Saturday across the country.
