UNHCR praises Yemen efforts in refugees cases

SANA'A, May 15 (Saba) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres called upon donor countries to support Yemeni efforts to help and receive African refugees.


The UN official said to Saba that UNHCR praises Yemen's efforts to resolve African refugee's problems, particularly Somalis, "We thank the Yemeni government for its human role in refuges cases." He added. The UNHCR official is currently visiting Yemen and he would discuss with Yemeni officials refuges issues in Yemen.



He also confirmed UNHCR's support to Yemen, pointing that UNHCR plans to increase aids to Yemen.  According to the UNHCR's report, more than 250.000 Somali refuges are in Yemen .
