Yemen, France discuss generating electricity from nuclear energy

PARIS, May 08 (Saba)- Minister of Electricity and Energy Mustafa Bahran discussed on Thursday with Director of International Nuclear Affairs in France Electric Company and other officials in the company cooperation between Yemen and France in field of generating electricity from nuclear energy.

The minister presented Yemen's need for generating electricity from nuclear energy.The French official welcomed Yemen's intentions in this regard, noting that Yemeni delegation's visit to France is
considered the first step of this cooperation and that a number of French specialists would be sent to Yemen soon for signing cooperation in this field.


Earlier, Bahran who heads Yemeni delegation had met Head of French Geological Research and discussed with him investments in field of geo-heating electricity for there is important geological nature in Yemen. The two parts agreed on creating joint investment project for
improving geo-heating electricity in Yemen.On the other hand, the delegation met with Chairman of Oil French Company Total and reviewed role of the company in producing electricity in Yemen.

The delegation also met with Head of French Atomic Energy Commission and discussed with him future cooperation between Yemen and France in field of generating electricity from nuclear energy.
