Czech to further support for Socotra

SANA'A, April 22 (Saba) - Czech's ambassador to Yemen Josef Vrapits has said that his government will provide development aids for a number of the islands of the Socotra archipelago.

Arriving in the island, Vrapits confirmed the Czech government has already supplied the archipelago inhabitants with a truck to carry waters from the water station to the people's houses as well as school equipment for the Samha and Abdul Kori schools.

The two projects were at cost of $ 50 thousand.


Vrapits affirmed his government's interest to support the Socotra archipelago and that it intends to implement other projects at other islands of the archipelago, most important of which are the $ 2.5 million al-Hiswah station project.

He pointed out that there are further two stations to be installed at the hospitals of Hudaibu and 22nd may at cost of $ 650 thousand for each.

Noteworthy, the Czech government had provided support for the archipelago for the station of treating exhaust waters within the project of protecting the archipelago's distillation irrigation system.
