Yemen denies canceling FM's visit to Washington
[13/April/2008]

SANA'A, April 13 (Saba) - Foreign Ministry denied on Sunday what al-Sahwa.net has reported that US had canceled the Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi's visit to the United States that was to be paid to Washington in the mid of April.

Official sources in the ministry stated to the state-run 26sep.net that the visit has been postponed to another date would be defined later based on Yemen's request in order to finalize the preparations with the different bodies of the American administration.

They affirmed that the delay has no relation with what has been mentioned on the website about Washington's demands for al-Badwi or any one else.

The visit's agenda is still the same the sources said, adding that al-Qirbi would held talks with US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice on bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.

The two officials would also discuss the latest developments in Arab region, topped by the peace in the middle east and Iraq as well as the international issues of common concern.
