Yemen documents 400 archaeological pieces of Sheba era
[09/April/2008]

SANA'A, April 09 (Saba)- The General Authority for Antiquities (GAA) completed the documentation of more than 400 archaeological pieces date back the Sheba era.

General Director of the Protection of Monuments in Sana'a Hisham al-Thawr said Wednesday that the archaeological pieces were seized by security authorities last year as some smugglers were trying to smuggle them abroad.

Al-Thawr added that the GAA had documented and imaged all 400 archaeological pieces for determining the age and the time of each archaeological piece.

"The archaeological pieces include historical manuscripts, old currencies of gold and silver and bronze swords and shields" said al-Thawr.
