[24 March 2008]

RIYADH, March 24 (Saba)- Representing Yemen in the Sixth Forum of Dialogue Among Civilizations between Japan and Islamic World )SFDCJIW), vice rector of Sana'a University for Academic Affairs Ahmad al-Kibsi called for establishing sections for Islamic studies in the Japanese universities and similar ones for Japanese studies in Arab and Islamic universities.

He noted in Yemen's paper he delivered in SFDCJIW, being held currently here, that Yemen has called on Japan in 1938 to acknowledge Islam as a religion and building bridges with Arab and Islamic worlds.

He indicated that Yemen is a country practicing dialogue whether in interior or exterior levels, highlighting leading role of Saudi Kingdom in filed of dialogue among civilizations via the visit of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz to Vatican, calling for boosting cultural and visit exchange between researchers from Japan and the Islamic world.
