Government denies news on al-Qaeda link to July 7th school attack
[23/March/2008] SANA'A, March 23 (Saba) - Interior Ministry refuted press news that the security authorities were formally charged a cell affiliated to al-Qaeda of being behind the terrorist attack at the July 7th girl school took place last week.

An official source at the ministry signaled that the news were baseless and untrue, pointing out the authorities are still investigating into the assault.

The state-run Althowra.net has reported that the security authorities had accused an al-Qaeda cell of carrying out the attack which occurred against the school last Tuesday at noon with three mortars fired by extremist elements.

A terrorist attack took place against the July 7th School, a girls school, at Sawan district of the capital Sana'a, near the US embassy, injuring 13 girl students and five soldiers.
