Yemen, UNFPA discuss reproductive health, family planning program

SANA'A, March 03 (Saba)- Minister of Finance Numan al-Suhaibi held a meeting on Monday with representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Hans Obdjen and discussed with him aspects of the current cooperation between the two countries, particularly assistance provided by the fund in area of reproductive health and family planning.

During the meeting, the minister affirmed the government's keenness to arise social awareness over reproductive health and family planning for Yemen has a population growth rate of 3% of which is considered very high.

For his part, UNFPA representative praised the effort of Yemeni government for providing financial allocations to finance activities of reproductive health and family planning, affirming UNFPA's readiness to provide aid and assistance for the country to face population growth.
