Group of ministers inspect Zabid city

HUDEIDAH, Jan. 03 (Saba)- Ministers of culture, electricity,agriculture and irrigation, and public works and roads as well as Hudeidah governor visited Zabid city on Thursday and inspected problems and obstacles facing the way of protecting historical city of Zabid and creating solutions and curies required for getting rid of difficulties facing keeping the city within the UNESCO's list of international heritage.

The ministers confirmed, during their meeting with the committee of protecting Zabid city, the cabinet's concern of the city and that they are visiting it for this purpose to know problems the city suffers from.

The ministers and the governor then reviewed, in their meeting at Zabid Castle Building, projects due to be carried out in the city and re-maintaining traditional buildings.

Earlier, the committee had submitted a report over problems the city faces such as issuing implementing the program of protecting the old city, providing necessary support to maintain old houses and solving problems of amendments.

The ministers and the governor inspected location of building the new Zabid city.

Then, the ministers visited the historical museum of the city and the al-Asha'irah Mosque and Library that contain old manuscripts and valuable books.
