Saleh hails writers' role of encountering anti-unification attempts
[28/October/2007]

ADEN,  (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh asserted on Sunday the significant role writers, educated and politicians play to encounter attempts against the unification and the country.

During his meeting with the Yemeni writers participating in the sixth Yemeni Literature Festival held in Aden, Saleh said that "the Union of Yemeni Writers is one of the first civil society organizations that has been established unified before any organization else."

He praised the keenness of the writers to spread out the culture of unification and deepen it in the souls of those who are not acquainted with conditions before and after the unification of Yemen.

"You have a great message that is to underpin the culture of unity amongst youth" Saleh said, adding that he is very confident that they would circulate such massage everywhere in Yemen, in society,
universities, schools. "Your message is not less important than any political action." he said.

The Writers, for their parts, said that they have had their rights under the unification and that they received all care and honor from the government under leadership of the president.

They emphasized whatever their factional affiliation, they are all gathered under one country, renewing their intents to keep on spreading out their noble massage of circulating the values of
unification.
