Yemen participates in annual meetings of IMF, WB

SANA'A, (Saba)- A Yemeni delegation headed by Deputy Premier, Planning and International Cooperation Minister Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi headed on Saturday for Washington to participate in the annual meetings of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) to be held in Washington during 20-22 October.

Undersecretary of the Ministry Mutahar al-Abbasi said to Saba that the meetings would discuss a number of issues related to international economy and programs of support and aids for developing countries to strengthen the role of technology as well as creating new work opportunities and reducing unemployment.

Al-Abbasi pointed that the Yemeni delegation would brief the leaderships of IMF and WB on reforms Yemen is implementing.

Recently the World Bank decided to raise its support to Yemen up to $149 million to support several developmental projects.
