President orders to release 230 prisoners

SANA'A, Oct 10 (Saba)- On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, President Ali Abdullah Saleh has gave orders to set 230 prisoners free who spent three quarters of their terms in prison and are unable to pay debts or financial fines.

Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Isam al-Samawi said Wednesday that president asked the government to pay YR162 million on behalf the prisoners and gear up procedures of setting them free to enable them to spend Eid al-Fitr with their relatives.

Meanwhile, Saleh paid a visit to al-Qaeda city and Thi-Sufal districts of Ibb governorate where he inspected situation of the citizens and work process in several road projects.
