President inspects volcanic activities of Jabal al-Tair Island

HODEIDAH, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh inspected on Monday, boarding a helicopter, situations in the Jabal al-Tair Island, 70 miles into the Red Sea, which was tragically hit by strong volcano activities.

He also checked the process of evacuation and rescue for soldiers who were camped in the island.

On the other hand, President Saleh paid a visit to Hodeidah Military Hospital to get acquainted with conditions of the survivors who are receiving treatment in the hospital, four of them are seriously injured. Three soldiers were died while four others are still missing.

Saleh highly appreciated efforts of the Coastguard in evacuating the island and rescuing the soldiers.
