President asks to return telecom services to north-eastern region
[29/September/2007]

SANA'A,  (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh gave orders on Saturday to put back telecommunication services to the north-eastern region of the country.

During his visit to the General Corporation for Wire and Wireless Telecommunication, President Saleh affirmed the importance of the telecom sector and information technology in economic development and the necessity of offering telecom services for citizens at reasonable price.

He gave orders to cut 30% off subscriptions of internet services and make 10% deduction of phone calls fees within YemenMobile Network.

Saleh also ordered to finalize measures of developing telecom law to cope with changes in this sector, asking to speed up steps of announcing international bid over a strategic partner for YemenMobile Company.
