President Saleh congratulates newly elected Japanese Premier

SANA'A, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh sent on Wednesday a cable of congratulations to the newly elected Japanese Premier Yasuo Fukuda on his election to lead the country.

In the cable, president Saleh expressed satisfaction over mutual cooperation relations between the two countries, pointing that Yemen is looking forward to push them forward to serve the common
interests of the two peoples.

Fukuda was the head of the Japanese-Yemeni Friendship Association. He was virtually elected prime minister by the country's Parliament after wining 338 votes out of the total of 476 valid ballots last
Tuesday afternoon.
